Famous faces from the cobbles of Coronation Street descended on Chester Town Hall to film dramatic courtroom scenes.

Published on 21st January 2019

Filming began in the Autumn and lasted around five days before the drama unfolded on our screens just before Christmas.

The magistrates courtroom was used as the set to film dramatic scenes as Sally Metcalfe, played by Sally Dynevor, fought to clear her name over allegations of fraud. Weatherfield mayor Sally was put on trial after being set up by conman Duncan Radfield.

“The location was a great success and both the directors and the crews were very vocal in their praise for the whole set up. The staff we came across were excellent and a great help. I will go so far as to say that I’m quite sure we’ll be asking to film there again if more relevant court scenes come up in the scripts.” Ken Mair, Location Manager Coronation Street.
